Geeklawyer’s temporary chambers

Is that mp3 player loaded?

Geeklawyer chuckled somewhat when he read to Metro story about some poor chump who made the mistake of holding his black mp3 player with both hands causing some nervous nellie to think it was a pistol. Much panic was then caught when he was arrested at gunpoint after police chased the bus down. As he was listening to music he couldn’t hear their challenge and reached for the player to turn it off so he could hear. How that didn’t end up in him being shot is hard to fathom. He is clearly the luckiest man in London. Lucky he isn’t a Brazilian electrician, or a Muslim.

What was outrageous was that having reased what was going on the police still insisted on arresting him and taking his DNA which will now be kept permanently along with a record of his arrest for suspected arms offence. Nice.

  1. My Dear Geek,

    السلام عليك

Plus ca change. Twenty years ago, the brother of a friend of mine was driving around his local village. He thought it would be amusing to fire a water pistol at the local females, who did not mind in the slightest. Unfortunately, an old and rather short-sighted member of the public called the police and an armed response unit was called, with entirely ludicrous results.

  2. Hmm I had better be careful with opening my Chanel compact when I powder my nose. It too is square and black.

What hazardous times we live in.

  4. GL, with curly hair and dark eyes I am surprised I have not been dragged off to Belmarsh already as a security risk. Surely it is a matter of time before a member of the public spots me on a plane and my number is up.

  5. Not least because my other stalker has maliciously and falsely grassed you up, she told me so.

I suppose I ought to disabuse them but it would be a laugh if it happened. Maybe I’ll leave it till a week after you capture. Nit very nice way to treat one’s sister, but then I am supposed to be evil.

  6. Ok so they may need to stop and search him, but after they have done this then what was the need to arrest him?
